Vale Professor Yong Lin Ren
Universal Biosecurity Limited (UBL) acknowledges the passing of Professor Yong Lin Ren in early 2025, following a brief illness.
Professor Ren was the former Chairman of UBL’s Advisory Board. He was an internationally recognised expert in grain pest management and commercialisation strategies.
As Professor of Plant Biology at Murdoch University’s School of Agricultural Sciences and the Centre for Biosecurity & One Health, Professor Ren played a pivotal role in developing and validating UBL’s Fume8 ethyl formate fumigation technology. He was a co-inventor of the vaporising technology at the heart of UBL’s patents.
His expertise, vision and collaborative leadership are deeply missed by colleagues, students and industry partners. The Board and team at UBL extend their condolences to his family.
